All patients/carers will be expected to be referred by the patient’s regular GP with a Full Health Summary and will be expected to comply with the monitoring and supervisory conditions to start a medicinal cannabis trial.

A keen interest in natural sciences and plant medicines within a Western Practice of family medicine and emergency medicine has led to a desire to embark on a postgraduate study of select indigenous plant medicines, their efficacy, risks, therapeutic potential and ability to benefit indigenous communities from where this knowledge is harvested.

Gumbi-Gumbi, Kunzea and a many other Australian indigenous plants have incredible medicinal effects.

Exploring the remote reaches of the world in search of indigenous plant knowledge is a long term project that has much work and planning still to go.


mEDICAL EDUCATION

On the Hoof teaching is part and parcel of the job of Senior Medical Officer in a an accredited teaching training Emergency Department. Navin has recently been appointed a tutor and accredited teacher status at the University of South Wales- UK as part of their post graduate Expedition Medicine Diploma.

Navin is in the process of putting together a teaching series of webinars related to interesting and relevant medico-legal topics.
